What's good NCBL family hope all is well. Last week we had some exciting games and for the most part teams that I picked to win did so with lots of flare with exception to QB who took care of business against arch rival Mt Sinai. This week we have 6 more exciting games with divisional implications, who will take up the challenge and perform only time will tell but let’s see what Milo thinks about this week games.
Corona vs. Bethel
One of the best in the west battles the worst in the east as the Running Reds look to cruise pass the crusaders. Corona is a team of the future and need to develop good chemistry in order to compete night in and night out. Bethel on the other hand is battle tested and usually plays better as the year goes along. The key this game is can Bethel play to the level that a contending team needs to or will they play down to their opponent level. That has been the case over the last few seasons losing games they should have won. Keys to victory for both teams are simple. Corona must play hard defense, shoot well from the line, rebound on both ends, and get bench contributions. Bethel on the other hand must minimize the turnovers, shoot well from the field, play solid defense, and attack the interior of Corona. Look for a close game first half but by second half I expect to see Bethel run away and defeat Corona blow out fashion.
New Dimension vs. Ephesus
Last in the northeast battles third in the west for bragging rights. New Dime destroyers are a half game out of second place behind Bethel and are looking to keep pace. Ephesus on the other hand needs to play better if they are to make any noise come playoffs. Keys to victory for both teams are simple. New Dime must play their style, attack the paint, shoot well from the line, and out rebound their opponent. Ephesus on the other hand must minimize the turnovers, shoot well from the field, get bench contributions, and play solid defense. This game would be close throughout because Ephesus have heart however, talent wise New Dime is the better team. New Dime wins this game by at least 8 points as they keep pace with Bethel.
Queensboro vs. Horeb
QB prophets had a prophetic win last week against the tigers of Mt Sinai. QB has regained their form from last year and is ready to make some noise. Horeb hustlers lost their last game to the defending champs and would like to right their ship. Both teams are well coached and have playmakers so I expect to see a high scoring game. Horeb must play smart but hard, shoot well from the field, rebound the ball on both ends, and play solid defense. QB on the other hand must shoot well from the line, get bench contributions, minimize the turnovers, and attack the rim. Look for a close game throughout but I feel that QB have more to lose and for that reason I'm picking them to defeat the hustles by at least 4 points as they hold on to the top spot.
Kingsboro vs. Bethany
Last in the west battles new comers Bethany ballers in the east. Kingsboro lost last week to Fellowship and to be honest they could have won the game. This team has fallen on some hard times unlike their run in the early 2000's. Now they are the beating stick for teams and they better come prepared for the ballers because they are for real. Bethany lost their last game to the Bronx express and knows they have a long way to go to be considered elite. Keys for both teams are simple. Kingsboro must play unselfish ball, minimize the turnovers, shoot well from the field, and play solid defense. Bethany on the other hand must start off strong, shoot well from the line, get bench contributions, and attack the rim. Look for a close game first half but come second half I expect to see the ballers of Bethany dance all the way to victory by at least 8 points.
Mt Sinai vs. Bronx
This is Milo's "game of the week". East meets northeast as Mt Sinai battles Bronx express in what should be a clash. Mt Sinai is in second place in the east behind QB who beat them last week. Now they face division leader Bronx express that is ready to strut their stuff. Both teams are familiar with each other and have lots of history. Bronx needs to continue to play good ball if they are to hold off the defending champs for the division. Mt Sinai knows what's at stake and they need to come out the gate strong. Keys to victory for both teams are simple. Bronx must run express, shoot well from the field, have a big game from the guards, and rebound the ball on both ends. Mt Sinai on the other hand must try and derail Bronx attack, minimize the turnovers, hit the open shots, and play solid defense. This game would come down to which team wants it more because they both have similar strengths. Look for a close game throughout but my gut tells me that Bronx despite their loss last year to the tigers have more at stake and for that reason I'm picking them to win this game by at least 4 points holding on to the divisional lead.
Cornerstone vs. Ebenezer
Cornerstone crushers won their last game and are on a little winning streak. Now they face the sharp shooters from Ebenezer who started the season off slow. Both teams have been playing better and needs to continue to elevate their teams. Ebenezer knows that the east division is tough and they need to stay with the pack. This game is interesting because Cornerstone despite their slow start is playing a lot better. Keys to victory for both teams are simple. Cornerstone must play hard nose defense, shoot well from the line, minimize the turnovers, and get stops. Ebenezer on the other hand must shoot better from the field, play solid defense, get bench contributions, and attack the rim. Look for a close game throughout but my gut tells me that both teams will fight to the end. Look for a high scoring game with lots of score changes but in the end I feel Ebenezer will have the better shooting night and for that reason I'm picking them to win this game by at least 10 points.
Well that's all for Milo's Week 7 picks. Players come out and give the fans a show; fans come out and support your teams, and lets fellowship together. Remember to count your blessings and never take life for granted. God gave us the ability to choose and as children of his kingdom we are to represent Him at all times. The little things we do in life will weigh more on our souls than the big ones. God expects us to be consistent and strive to be the best father, mother, brother, sister, friend, leader, and most of all, the best person, as we continue to witness to others. Pray for those less fortunate and remember everything done in the dark will one day come to light. Until next time this is Milo signing out. God Bless.
