Hey Marv pardon the late response I just came back from the fishing trip lol...even though we've been rocksteady the last few years, I have to say that The BX is the Team of the Decade. As I told you at Camp, if we had won this year, I would have made a case for us. But you guys came within literal inches of a three-peat, and won those two chips without a dominating presence in the middle. How y'all beat BK Faith when they had won 20-something straight is still crazy to me. And like Insider said, you guys built from within...no one-year wonders. If anything, we kind of took the mantle from you guys and have been in the championship mix the last few years. But you guys are still here, and have the youth to compete for the Team of this Deacde too...good luck, off to the races! |

It really saddens me to hear about the passing of our friend George, a true pioneer to the NECSBL. One who gave all that he had even in his last days to see that our young men had an outlet on Saturday evenings. Makes me reflect back when on Sabbath evenings we use to line up outside Pratt waiting to get in. Want to hear something funny, we lost that gym because we were to noisy outside singing vesper songs to loud to close out the Sabbath, and the neighbors complained. Bro. Day from City Tabernacle with his crew. Al Griffith, X, Stan, Wendel, Kyle Baker and his hit squad from Bethel. Those are the things I will 'ALWAYS' always remember about George. RIP my brother and await to see you in the Heavenly Kingdom. And to Matthew and the rest of the staff that are still out there, thanks for being their for 'US'. |

Hello Insider, I will agree that Linden has a good program, in fact a will say that you have been really good for the last four years. But what about the other six. I remember when Linden could not get pass Ephesus or theBronx. lol You have some competiton for the Brooklyn team in the last four years and the Bronx has still been knocking at the door. |

Hey Marv. What's up TyBoogs. You guys know I think Linden is a great team. We have good players. We have had some great runs. Still I would be a dishonest coach if I said my team has been greater that Bronx when you guys were running the league in the earlier part of the decade. And despite not winning recently, you guys continue to overachieve. More importantly you guys have what Linden has developed: stability and continuity. You guys develop young talents from your Juniors and build slowly, not eratically. That said, I think Linden is a strong second and if we continue to put in work, we will only get stronger, though nothing is guaranteed.
It's really great to see how the competition improved this year, but there are very few teams I watch closely, and it's because they have a great program, and you guys are definately at the top of the list. Much respect. Now Marv, I hope you will concede that Linden has been the dominant team for the 2000's. LOL. |

Hey Marv, Truely when we look back at the record ; alot of teams out there have had tremendous succes by having undefeated seasons. But the true measure of a programs is the consistant result of championships that are aquired. With that being said. The only program that comes close to be considered as a dynasty is the Bronx church. Three straight championship appearances losing the third to a undefeated Mount of Olives team is great. Finally let us not forget they have been in the league for the decade as the BRONX CHURCH. |

Wow, White Plains fans are hot. WHY? You are the champions. Why waste energy in debating how much write up you have gotten or not gotten. Pease be aware that the bullseye is now on your back. If you think the pressure was intense this year wait until next year.
Everyone will want to beat you and everyone will know that they will have to bring their A-Plus game when they play you. You will have all the time in the world to show that you deserve the attention. Be careful what you wish for. Ask the last three champions, New Dime, Coney Island and Linden, when you are in front of the bullseye you have nowhere to go but down. And for that matter ask the Bronx.
With that said I am asking the question: Who was the team of the decade? Who was the best team of the first ten years of 2000's. I have my opinion and I am willing to back it up. But first lets see what you guys think.

As the coach of First White Plains, I want to thank everyone for their continuous support. A special thanks to Pastor Binns, Pastor Walton Rose, Elder Webb, the WP family and to my team for adhering to the team code of conduct and demonstrating what "team concept" is all about even through adversity. It was a great season and the overall result was even greater. For the nine years I have participated in this league, I believe this year has been the most competitive. The league has grown tremendously and it has many unbelievably talented Christian brothers. In review of our most recent game, it amazes me that we were able to have Christian fun in a non-violent, non-cursing atmosphere where both young and old enjoyed themselves in an environment that displayed humility and respect amongst all. This, in turn, is a reflection on the commissioners, coaches and administrators of the league who have done such a wonderful job in creating this type of environment. Milo, please know that your comments were an intriguing part of our preparation for each game and I thank you. Dave, Troy, and the Linden family, job well done. In closing, I would like to invite everyone to the benefit concert being held at the First White Plains Church on Saturday, June 6 at 7 pm. This benefit concert is being held to assist with the costs needed to attend the 2009 Best of the Best Tournament being held in Cincinnati, OH. Again, I say thank you to everyone and to my team, GREAT JOB!!! Ohio here we come!!!

Hello to all . . Dave, Norm, Milo and others, thank you for your feedback and sorry for the delay in responding. I have been reading all of the comments and writeups that have been posted about the game and, in my opinion, this has been one of the best intense games within the NCBL that I have seen in quite some time. The enthusiasm of the fans, skills of the players, and the coaching strategies that were displayed made this game truly original. However, I am little disappointed to see that Linden is still getting all props considering FWP won the championship. From the onset, I have said that FWP has been an unstoppable team. They have dominated teams all season by averaging 90+ points in regular season games and held their opponents to an average of 70+. Considering they were missing two of their starters in the championship game, based on Norm's comments and my observation of the team, they still were able to dominate Linden in the first half and win the game. In addition, FWP's coach has done wonders with a team that was pretty much a non-factor in past years based on my recollection of the league. As this is his first year of coaching an NCBL team, he should be saluted for taking the "chip" in his first year. All in all, FWP gets a job well done from this fan. |

1st off I want to thank all the commissioners that held the league together. Also I would like to thank all the fans from each church for supporting the league, especially FWP fans. I want to give much love to our coaching staff and the ppl behind the scenes, as well as my team for sticking together. I have to thank Milo for motivating our team every week with his predictions. Oh and I cant my mom. Lol... Linden play us a great game in the championship, but I didn't forget Ephesus played a great game in the 1st round. Coney island played us to a good game as well. The competition was great. The kids from white plains church forced us to keep the team together. It was the smiles on there faces and the happiness they displayed during each made us play harder so we wouldn't go home early. We would do it all again if we had to. Clark thanks for those great pics man. Now we have to represent for the great competition we played against in our league. Overall I don't think there is another league that has as much great teams and sportsmanship as the one. Speaking on behalf of FWP we will give our all to represent for everyone. We proudly let everyone know its an honor. Signing off #13 FWP Thanks for all the great comments as well. :) Hardwork pays off. |
